Far Eastern Federal University

Far Eastern Federal University, earlier known as Oriental Institute in Vladivostok was established on July 9, 1899 by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation and was the first classical higher educational institution in Eastern Siberia and the Far East of Russia. In the year of 1920, the Institute merged with other private educational institutions and came under a common name called The State Far Eastern University. WIth the merger of four leading universities of the Far East – the Far Eastern State University (FENU), the Far Eastern State Technical University (FESTU), the Pacific State Economic University (TSUE) and the Ussuri State Pedagogical Institute (UGPI), In 2010, the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) was created.

The Far Eastern Federal University was selected by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation in July 2013 to participate in the federal program for increasing the international competitiveness of Russian universities among the world’s leading research and educational centers.

FEFU has International cooperation with more than 240 different leading universities and international institutions. This has led to many collaborations and achievements in terms of scientific research. As of now, Far Eastern Federal University offers more than 250 educational programs for bachelor, master, and doctorate studies all together.
